Kenneth W. Kizer is a Senior Scholar in the Clinical Excellence Research Center, Stanford University School of Medicine and a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of California, Davis.

A physician and former top health official for the State of California, he works on health system transformation, quality measurement and patient safety, and veterans' and military health. He previously served as Under Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where he led a widely studied overhaul of the VA health system, and as founding President and CEO of the National Quality Forum.
